Accessorise Yourself

 That is the title of our workshop that we've written for Little Artists at the Laing Art Gallery. We've introduced Little Artists and Grown Up Artists to the theme by wearing lots of jewellery and discussing why do we accessorise. We looked at plain and patterned pieces of jewellery and handed kids little paper mirrors to hold while we explored the gallery. That is when parents/guardians stepped in and discussed all the paintings, finding accessories in them and secret trail that hid for them. As a collaboration- the part where we work in a group with Little Artists and Grown Up Artists; we rolled out a reflective paper and left a box full of shapes for the group to bend over and design their own piece of jewellery. As the main event kids were creating own jewellery with gold and silver sprayed pasta as well as coming over to my "make a pom-pom ring" station.
